Welcome back to Saint Andrews!

We’ve learned a lot while under quarantine – not least how we can love one another from a distance andtruly miss our community time.    Well, times are changing! Starting July 5th, we will gather for worship in person and online, with strict protocols for the health and safety of all. We’ve developed these protocols to meet and exceed the health and safety standards outlined by NS Public Health and the United Church of Canada (Region 15).

Experts’ understanding of how the Covid-19 works is growing.   It seems that there are four factors that most likely play a role:  how close you get to an infected person; how long you are near that person; whether that person expels viral droplets on or near you; and how much you touch your face afterwards.

You can help reduce your risk and do your part to protect others by following some basic steps.  Please have a look at the charts below, for what to expect when St. Andrew’s gathers.

We are excited, and we are blessed by the presence of one another, in the presence of God – in person and online!

Our service will be live-streamed on Facebook–so if you feel safer not coming to a gathering at the church that option is there for you to still be connected to us in real time.   www.facebook.com/standrewshfx

When you come to the church you will notice that we are directing traffic flow in one direction, through the Coburg Road side sanctuary ramp door. There will be greeters outside to point you in the right direction. Please keep physical distancing outside, as we will be taking names and phone numbers as people enter to keep a contact tracing sheet.  It may take a few minutes to get inside.  You will notice once you are inside that chairs have been physically distanced, and there are taped direction arrows on the floor.  This will help you know the traffic flow in the room.  There will be greeters to help you find a seat, if needed.  At the end of the service Russ and Susan will not be mingling with the congregation.  We will be sending everyone out through the Robie Street doors in a somewhat orderly way…from the back rows the the front, to facilitate physical distancing.  If you have mobility concerns and need to use the ramp entrance at the front of the church, please exit that way. We’d ask that you go directly outside, and not mingle in the Narthex.

Washrooms in the Hall will be accessible via the hall doors at the front left side of the church.  The exterior hall doors to Coburg Road will not be open.

Thanks for your patience as we learn more together about how to keep a healthy and safe community!
