Amy Lou Keeler, of Mama’s Broke, and her friends Mo Kenney and Dani-Rae Clarke, have created Porch Light, a benefit concert to help raise money for the Elizabeth Fry Society to build a home for a very vulnerable population. 100% of every ticket sale will go directly to the Girls action against Trafficking & Exploitation (GATE) program and their goal of creating a safe place.
In response to the high rates of human trafficking here in Nova Scotia (the highest rates in Canada), the Elizabeth Fry Society has created the GATE program – a client centered program that provides individualized supports and preventative services to female-identifying young people ages 12-24 who are at-risk of, are currently, or are survivors of trafficking in rural and urban Nova Scotia.
