The UCW Purpose
"To unite all women of the congregation for the total mission of the church and to provide a medium through which we may express our loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian Witness, Study, Fellowship and Service."
An invitation to all women of the congregation
Why not consider joining in our UCW activities? You can attend any general function, contribute to or participate in any activities or fund-raisers or drop in at a unit meeting at any time. We would love to have anyone join us.
Fellowship
We have made deep and lasting friendships in our general and unit meetings as we share in worship, fun and service. We have a potluck get-together in December.
Education
Each unit follows its own program of studies. Our general and unit meetings sometimes include guest speakers on a variety of topics.
Outreach
We visit people in hospitals, nursing homes and shut-ins. We send cards of sympathy, support and congratulations. We cater to funeral receptions. We provide meals for Hope Cottage and Sunday Suppers. We collect, and deliver clothing for Brunswick Street United Church Mission as well as layette items for Brunswick Street United Church and the IWK Health Center. We donate personal items to the Halifax Correctional Centre. At Christmas time, we donate mittens, hats and socks for children to Brunswick Street United Church. On Valentines Day, we deliver cookies to shut-ins and seniors.
