Spiritual Guidance
Spiritual guidance and direction is the art of assisting another
person to notice and respond to the presence and leading of God
in the middle of ordinary life. It is an ancient tradition taking
on current form with the assistance of twenty-first century knowledge,
skills, and language. The word "God" can be replaced by many other
words: creator, great spirit, father/mother, higher power, inner
light, holy spirit, inner teacher, wisdom, the holy, etc. - a
life force that is in and through creation. It is holy mystery,
divine love, spirit of life, in whom, as the apostle Paul says,
we "live and move and have our being."
Spiritual guidance sessions can be arranged either individually
or in a group with Martha Martin, a graduate of the Atlantic Jubilee
Program in Spiritual Deepening and Spiritual Guidance.
