A prophetic sermon to start this year. Russ Daye speaks to two great darknesses in our time, and the close parallels to be found in the condition of the time the prophet Isaiah and the Gospels were written. The sermon concludes with a challenge to set aside reticence, to stop being reserved about our faith and do what we need to do to light the flame of hope and transformation for ourselves and our communities.

The recording begins with the two readings from Isaiah and Marks Gospel, and concludes with the choir’s anthem, ‘Your One and Only Life’ by Susan Crowe.
