“What deal of the century: Peacemaking in the age of Trump and Netanyahu”

Jonathan Kuttab, leading human rights lawyer in Israel and Palestine, will speak at St Andrew’s United Church, 6036 Coburg Rd.(Coburg entrance), Halifax, Tuesday Sept. 25th, 7:00 PM.

The Deal of the Century, moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem and the ending of UNRWA funding by the Trump Administration speak of a final solution to the Palestinian problem. A two state solution is no longer feasible, so what is the solution for a just peace?

For Jonathan Kuttab, a Palestinian Mennonite/Christian, peacemaking is a way of life. Born in West Jerusalem, he graduated from the University of Virginia Law School, co-founded the Palestinian Center for the Study of Nonviolence and the Mandela Institute for Political Prisoners.  He is Chair of the Board of Bethlehem Bible College and of the Holy Land Trust. He has written extensively on international human rights and humanitarian law in the Occupied Territories, taught law at Palestinian universities and lectured extensively throughout the U.S. and Palestine. He is licensed to practice law in Palestine, Israel and New York.
