Susan Chisholm preaching:  Advent, we are told, is a time of waiting; an invitation to a different order of being, involving patience, anticipation, and expectation. It is a lovely thought, but our experience in the world – as parents, city dwellers, workers, activists, readers, the politically aware and the socially engaged – it hardly resonates with our lives and our times. In our worship this season, we seek clarity in the confusion.

The recording includes the Communion Great Thanksgiving, with some of the music of communion. The conclusion of Susan’s sermon follows communion. The recording ends with Mostly Righteous (Steve Tugwell vocals) performing Tom Petty’s “Under the Great Wide Open”
