A very lively Sabbatical "Bon Voyage" Luncheon celebration for our minister Rev. Russell Daye took place in the church hall on Sun. May 2nd. after the Sun. service.  It was attend by approximately. 160 congregational members.  Rev. Dale Chisholm, our minister of Pastoral Care, gave the grace. Kevin Parks, our Music Director, arrange for Johnathon Kirby, from the choir to sing " The Vagabon Song".  The choir sang and "Irish Blessing".  Russ was presented with a GPS to help him navigate his way across the USA to California.  He was also given Master Card Gift Cards to help him with his gas expenses.  Bon Voyage Cards, signed by the congregation, and a card from the "Lady Bug" nursery, were presented to him. Rev. Martha Martin our Minister of Education and Care, presented Russ with a miniature statue of Jesus to take with him.  Martha made some very humorous remarks to Russ about his travels. The atmosphere for this event was warm and wonderful.  Russ expressed his appreciation to the congregation in a short speech following the presentation of gifts and cards. It was an event that was enjoyed by all who attended.
